The Molteni&C Heritage catalogue celebrates the addition of the Continuum armchair to the 2024 Collection. Designed by Gio Ponti in 1963, this iconic piece highlights the enduring partnership between Brianza-based manufacturers Molteni&C and Bonacina 1889, as well as the legacy of generations of pioneers in Italian design furniture. Both companies remain committed to preserving their distinctive craftsmanship and deep regional roots. In the case of Continuum, this mastery is expressed through the expert weaving and bending of rattan — a natural material meticulously shaped at every stage of the production process.
Designed by Gio Ponti in 1963, the Continuum armchair is reintroduced as part of the Molteni&C Heritage Collection 2024. Created in collaboration with Bonacina 1889, it highlights the art of hand-woven rattan, crafted with over 200 hours of meticulous work.
Its elegant, continuous form flows seamlessly from headrest to armrest, inspired by organic movement and Italian design tradition. Entirely made in Italy, Continuum combines timeless craftsmanship, natural materials, and architectural balance.
