Special Delivery: Salone del Mobile 2025

SPECIAL DELIVERY.

Servànt at the Salone del Mobile 2025.

A Palazzo, a rare sit down, a heavy string of non-stop meetings, too many cappuccinos, and the extraordinary resilience of Design.

As the Servànt Team takes off every year for Milan, the planning for the string of one2one meetings and visits (and talks), with the best of Design and all our represented brands during the Salone del Mobile and the Fuorisalone, actually starts on the plane. As we exchange calendars and timetables, we always think that the time will run short. And it does. Reality bites As we arrive, the immediate perception is that we have to run everywhere, and experience the buzz in the best possible way. It’s a curious mix between a marathon and a weekend sprint. As Diana Vreeland said, “The eye has to travel”, and we follow this principle to the backbone. This year the highlight was the extraordinary preview of Palazzo Molteni&C, which brings another singular experience to what the brand can do in an overall image concept, and how it can still leave you with the kind of spellbinding magic which our customers crave. As we went in, the mix between an immersive experience which cross-references glamour and incredible technical expertise, was outstanding. In fact, this synergy is pure Molteni&C as it gives you a standout perspective on how each room and angle in a house can look like, immediately. The Showroom as your own playground.

As we strolled afterwards to way too many Studios, and way too many meetings and touch-down experiences with everything which ranges from flooring to lighting, and from chairs to beds (and tables, shelves, carpets, you name it), one idea came to mind (probably during lunch while seating down in Brera and eyeing a creamy Tiramisú): this was the year of the eclectic perspective. Something special for someone special, but with an unexpected twist. A mix, which doesn’t necessarily make a statement, but much more of a moodboard. A dialogue of sorts. Design is looking for solutions which take care of basic needs, and technical purposes, but also works for singular cravings. Stunning pieces which change a place and setting, and which define it. So, between talks at Modulnova (which perfectly represents the beautiful dialogue between technical expertise and beautiful craft), and visits to DEDON, EDRA, Flexform, FLOS, Baxter and so many others, we understood something we’ve been perceiving in Servànt in Lisbon too: the customers may know what they want, but we have to be one step ahead to offer something which they will dream about, and which will set something, and someone, apart. Cravings, and aspirational perspectives, can mix beautifully with something that works properly. We need to be adaptable to work on specific contexts and understand specific briefings. That’s what Milan teaches you: it’s not what you see, it’s how you see it. And also how you imagine it back home. Eclectic, a new definition for what we do differently at Servànt.
